Summary

Beloved #1 bestselling authors James Patterson and Emily Raymond deliver a thrilling novel about a teen caught between two worlds and the truths that could set her free—or trap her forever。

My name is Hannah Dory and I need you to believe me

NOW: Hannah is brought to Belman Psych, told she is suffering from hallucinations and delusions。 Hannah knows the truth: she must return to the past and save her sister。 Could Jordan, the abnormal psych student who seems to truly care, be the answer she’s looking for?

1347: Hannah and her village are starving to death in a brutal winter。 Hannah seeks out food and salvation in the baron’s castle。 If she is caught stealing, she will surely hang。 But if she and her friends succeed, she’ll save everyone she holds dear。

NOW: Jordan isn’t sure what to believe, and Hannah has even bigger problems: if she doesn’t make it back, her sister will die, but if she keeps going back, she might never escape。

This was a tough read。 Let's face it, reading about people with mental illness is uncomfortable and this was no exception。 The book's concept was interesting though, and of course it was well written。 This was a tough read。 Let's face it, reading about people with mental illness is uncomfortable and this was no exception。 The book's concept was interesting though, and of course it was well written。 。。。more

LOVED the book。 It shed light on the complicated nature of psychiatric dysfunction and treatment。 It supported empathy and open-mindedness in those who don’t understand why people are who they are。

Wow!This is unlike any James Patterson I have read before。 It almost had a Stephen King feel to it (think 11-22-63 or Fairy Tale)。 I was captivated from the first page and couldn’t put this book down。 The scenes in the Psych Ward and in the castle seemed real and very moving。 I highly recommend this book。

Jordan, a student intern, is captivated by her and wants to help her in any way that he can, but how can he save her from a world he doesn't think really exists?Thoughts: This is such a fast-paced, easily readible book, and I can't wait to add it to my high school's collection! There's a lot of death and sadness, especially through the first half of the book, but the quick chapters help readers move through the plot without dwelling too much。 There are shaes of Girl, Interrupted with the psych ward setting and a few of the secondary characters, and I actually wish there was more scenes in the 1300's because Patterson and Raymond brought us back in time in a way that I couldn't get enough of, especially the scenes with Hannah and the baron。 The commentaries on mental health were realistic and poignant, and while the ending was a bit rushed and slightly disappointing in my opinion, it was also realistic given the circumstances。 Reluctant readers, fantasy readers, realistic fiction readers, and readers of a genre I like to call "Tough Topics" will appreciate this book and its readibility, quality, and depth。**Thank you, NOVL, for this ARC!** 。。。more

2。5/5。 I'm not really sure what happened, there was two different things going on with two very different times and that's about the most that I got from it。 I'm definitely not the intended audience with this book as I've written it off and don't intend to deep dive into theories throughout message boards and stuff。 I saw it, read it, don't understand it fully and I'm moving on。 2。5/5。 I'm not really sure what happened, there was two different things going on with two very different times and that's about the most that I got from it。 I'm definitely not the intended audience with this book as I've written it off and don't intend to deep dive into theories throughout message boards and stuff。 I saw it, read it, don't understand it fully and I'm moving on。 。。。more

Very interesting with well developed characters and a surprise ending。 It sheds light on the mental health crisis and lack of treatment for most。 At times I felt it dragged on but overall, I could not put it down。
